Join us for an unforgettable 5-day adventure in Mole National Park! Let's explore Ghana’s largest wildlife-rich park, where elephants, leopards, hyenas, and some of the country’s rarest birds roam free. This is your chance to witness the elusive vultures and other incredible species in their natural habitat, capture stunning photographs, and fully immerse yourself in the beauty of the African wilderness. 

The highlight of this experience is our dedicated vulture tour, where we focus on some of the most threatened yet fascinating birds in West Africa. Ghana hosts several vulture species, each playing a critical role in keeping ecosystems clean and balanced. You can expect to encounter species such as:​​​​

With years of experience in Mole National Park, we’ve tracked some of the most elusive vultures in Ghana and are looking to follow up and get some outstanding pictures and sightings of them. Now, you have the rare opportunity to join us track observe and photograph these magnificent birds up close, explore the park’s stunning landscapes, and experience wildlife in a way few ever get to.

Dates: 17th – 21st August, 2026
 

Participant spots: Only 7 available

 

Daily Schedule:

  • Vulture-focused field sessions: 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

  • Guided birdwalks:

    • Morning: 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m.

    • Evening: 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Location: Mole National Park

Target Species & Focus

 

Special focus will be on Ghana's rarest vultures: The White-headed, Lappet-faced, and Rüppell's, where any sightings or photographic records will be invaluable. Mole is the only place in Ghana to encounter all recorded vulture species in one location, and data gathered will feed directly into their conservation.

Field Methods & Logistics

  • Field activities will primarily be conducted from safari vehicles

  • Short walks only in safe and suitable observation areas

  • Bird walks on the other hand will be done on foot

Health & Preparation

- High northern Ghana temperatures: bring sunscreen, a hat, and long sleeves

- Tsetse flies are present; long sleeves are highly recommended for protection

 

Tour Price: USD 1,800.00

Includes:

  • Accommodation and meals at the Mole National Park (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

  • Vehicles to pick you up from the Tamale airport to the Mole National Park

  • Rented safari vehicles for the vulture field expeditions

  • Entrance fees into the Park

  • Expert-led Birdwalks
